SUMMERS - Too Late (2011)
Originating from the South Coast of England (Southampton in Hampshire), SUMMERS is a young band bridging the gap between the iconic stadium rock legends of old and the current new wave of music, taking a 1980’s born genre and firmly stamping their own sound all over it.
Summers gets their name from two brothers, Crash and Ricky Summers, who formed the group in 2007, adding to the line-up the twin guitarists Jason Sepala / Sam Hickling and drummer Andy Pope.
The music and style of Summers is reminiscent of Def Leppard in the 1980s.
The band is releasing their first single and video; "Too Late", off the upcoming full album "364".
This song is truly a rock lover’s paradise, with big lead vocals, a rocking good guitar solo, heartfelt lyrics and a catchy chorus with all members doing backing vocals, the video and song are really well done and impressive.
Another track from the album, "Sometimes" is even more earlier Def Lep, particularly in the chorus, featuring a melodic guitar riff.
Added as special bonus; a non album track acoustic version of "Sometimes" recorded in New Year's Day 2011 is included into the package.
I firmly believe SUMMERS have a real future in the music industry and deserve to be exposed into the consciousness of rock fans across the world.
Really good advance, recorded with professionalism and taste from a band with all the ingredients to be the next revelation.
Can't wait the full "364" album.
A huge thumbs up.
