PARADISE INC. - Time (2011)

PARADISE INC. - Time (2011)

*

"Time" is the full length debut album by Brazilian melodic hard rock / AOR group PARADISE INC. The band's core comprises Brazilian musicians, but their frontman is German Carsten Schulz, most known for his work with Evidence One, Midnight Club and Domain.

Music wise "Time" is quality Melodic Hard Rock with many AOR - rock touches built on the high standards of German and classy Euro style, with a polished and melodic sound.
Fans of Jaded Heart, Frontline, Midnight Club and Shylock are expected to make the most of this stellar, if not totally original album.
The start of the album is really strong with the title track "Time (Live and Learn)", the best tune of the CD, featuring superb hooklines and a catchy chorus. With this song the bar is set high and the band rise to the challenge to continuously deliver song after song.
"Close Your Eyes" is a great rocker with a good riff/chorus, a song that sounds like a mix of Frontline and H.E.A.T.

"Who's Fooling Who?" with its commercially toned approach confirms the quality of what's on offer here, a pure mid tempo AOR melody that makes me think of Heartland. Great harmonic vocal passages that, no matter how hard you try not to, you simply can't avoid your foot tapping along with the track.
The power ballad "I Will Wait" has an uplifting stadium-feel, featuring soaring vocals and nice keyboards in the background. It could have been taken from a Casanova album for sure.
Another composition effectively standing out is "No More Mistakes", clearly the most climactic moment on the Paradise Inc.'s debut. "You" intertwines piano, heavy guitar and great backing vocals that all combine to make up a not too shabby tune.
There's some hard rock overtones on the guitar driven "Wait And See", whilst "Set Me Free" is a good melodic rocker with crunchy guitars and a nice harmonic chorus.
Doogie White (Rainbow) is guesting on "Not In Paradise" and sings his heart out supported by powerful backing vocals.
We have two versions of the classy sounding "Steel Or Stone", one being radio friendly in approach, and the other, as bonus track, with acoustics added to the mix.

It is unlikely that any fan of European Melodic Hard Rock / AOR would be anything less than pleased with "Time".
Paradise Inc. has delivered a solid debut, with a songwriting inspired in the classic 80's and a sound based around melodic yet sometimes crunchy guitars, nice keyboard fills and catchy hooklines.
The production is good and clear, courtesy of Scottish Paul Logue (Edens Curse), and the precise mastering was done by the omnipresent Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) with a fine result.
"Time" is a really consistently good album, that needs to be checked out by any serious Melodic Hard Rock / rockin' AOR fan.
Recommended.

V.A. - Advanced Releases sampler (2011)

V.A. - Advanced Releases singles 2011 Sebastian Bach , Paradise Inc., Mecca, Wild Rose, Jaded Heart

Sebastian Bach’s single “Kicking And Screaming” is now officially available for digital download on iTunes and Amazon.com, in anticipation of the September 27 release of his new solo album by the same name.
The single is hard hitting rocker with a big riff, pounding drums and vocals that only Sebastian Bach can deliver.

"Time (Live And Learn)" is the advanced single from brazilian's Paradise Inc. forthcoming album "Time". Here is a group steeped in musical references from bands like Europe, Bon Jovi, Harem Scarem, Jaded Heart and Danger Danger.
Recorded in Brazil, Germany and Scotland, "Time" was produced and mixed by Eden’s Curse mainman Paul Logue, while the mastering was handled by Pink Cream bassist Dennis Ward (Krokus, Primal Fear, Place Vendome).

Veterans German melodic hard rockers Jaded Heart are back in the studio for a brand new album due early 2012, still untitled.
Their advanced track "Burst Into Tears" is a groovy song with a scandi melodic rock flavor and nice harmony vocals on the chorus.

The invasion of new AOR bands from Sweden continues. Yes, Turbulence is a new Swedish Melodic Rock / AOR hope that is releasing a new self-produced EP called "Keepers Of The Light".
"Never Surrender" is a melodic guitar / keyboard driven AOR-rock number with nice harmonies and strong traditional scandi influence.

Finnish Reckless Love are working on a bunch of fresh songs for a new effort to be released next year.
The new track "Young 'N Crazy" shows the band approaching to a more guitar oriented, anthem-like material.

Finally, Wild Rose, the most promising Greek AOR band at the moment will be releasing their first album in September. Their sound is strongly influenced by '80s British AOR with high doses of keyboards.
"Come Back" is a melodic tune which shows the band surging onward and upward with energy and power, with a polished sound.

Ex - Whitesnake guitarist Adrian Vandenberg has wrote and recorded the song "A Number One" for Holland's national soccer team FC Twente from his hometown Enschede, Holland.
The track will gives fans a sneak preview of the sound of his upcoming album, set to be released the end of 2011.
A good song, although it sounds like a jingle-anthem with a small production.

Mecca's 2002 self titled debut remains as one of the best pure AOR albums from the new century.
After 6 years in the making, the second album from singer Joe Vana & Co. (including the mighty Tommy Denander), finally will see the light of day.
"Undeniable" will be released later this year or at the very beginning of 2012.

PARADISE INC. - One Step Into Paradise (2011)

PARADISE INC. One Step Into Paradise EP (2011)

PARADISE INC. is a new international band featuring Brazilian musicians Rick A. (bass), Allan Juliano (drums), Marcos Peres and De Grigo (guitars), and German vocalist Carsten 'Lizard' Schulz (Evidence One, Midnight Club, Domain).
After many years playing in cover bands, the Brazilian musicians decided to get together to compose their own music, with a courageous proposal embracing melodic rock in a country like Brazil, playing a sound that has direct references to names like Europe, Bon Jovi, Harem Scarem, Jaded Heart and Danger Danger.
Without fear of failure, nor concern for the competition or current musical trends, the band opted for playing from the 'heart and soul' rather than selling out and Paradise Inc. was born.

The band is putting finishing touches on the production of their debut album "Time" featuring ten songs and renowned musicians like the aforementioned vocalist Carsten Lizard Schulz, keyboard player Alessandro Del Vecchio (Glenn Hughes, Ian Paice, Eden’s Curse, Edge Of Forever, Moonstone Project), as well as Doogie White (Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen, Cornerstone), who appears as a guest lead vocalist on the track "Not In Paradise".
Recorded in Brazil, Germany and Scotland, “Time” was produced and mixed by Eden’s Curse mainman Paul Logue, while the mastering was handled by Pink Cream 69 bassist Dennis Ward (Krokus, Primal Fear, Place Vendome).
Logue also contributes some songs as does Schulz and his Evidence One partner Robby Boebel (Evidence One / Frontline / State Of Rock).

As an advance, the band is releasing as an advance the EP "One Step Into Paradise" (only as promo, not for sale) with the tracks “Close Your Eyes”, “I Will Wait”, “Set Me Free” and an acoustic version of “Steel Or Stone” from the forthcoming full album.
Musically, all these songs shows that Paradise Inc. would not venture away from the 'magic formula' that worked so well with the great, classic Melodic Rock / AOR of the '80s.

All the tracks on this advance are solidly crafted and expertly recorded & produced.
The band developed intense riffs / choruses, catchy licks and very good melodies. Their lyrics talk about themes such as beliefs, loves won or lost as well as social commentary with a positive message.
"We are negotiating with several record companies in Europe and Japan, and we hope to announce the release of the album soon", says drummer Allan Juliano.
Recommended, classy stuff.
