Most melodic, american hard rock fans knows pretty well Mark Slaughter's career.
Just in case; in 1986 Mark auditioned to sing for the Vinnie Vincent Invasion and joined the band as lead singer later that year. VVI's number one hit 'Love Kills' appeared on the 'Nightmare on Elm Street 4' movie soundtrack in 1988.

In 1989, Mark and former Vinnie Vincent Invasion producer / bass player Dana Strum formed the band "Slaughter".
Slaughter was one of the most representative band of its time, writing, producing and performing their own music, maintaining control of all aspects of their compositions and insuring quality presentation and integrity of their songs. Slaughter soared to the top, touring the globe with bands they grew up with, such as Alice Cooper, Kiss and Ozzy Osbourne. Their first two albums went platinum, selling in excess of five million records in the '90s and toured worldwide to sold-out arenas.

Slaughter influenced a generation of rock music fans with hits on the Billboard charts, including "Up All Night", "Fly To The Angels", "Real Love", "Spend My Life", "Mad About You" and "Days Gone By". Slaughter hits collectively spent over a year in number one video slot on MTV.
In 1991 won the American Music Award (AMA) for the Best New Hard Rock Band.

Now, their original label are including them into the '10 Great Songs' series.
This budget-priced, ten song collection that make up "10 Great Songs" offer up a solid overview of the post-Vinnie Vincent Invasion outfit led by Mark Slaughter.
Although 1995's 'Mass Slaughter: The Best of Slaughter' presents a bigger picture,
all the band's singles are present here, and in short, these tracks are what most listeners, new and fans, are looking to snag.

This move may seems like a typical cash-in release, but there's many good things about this compilation: includes the best songs from Slaughter, the 2003 remastering is one of those really noticeable, and all are taken from the original master tapes.
And it's cheap.
