V.A. - Advanced Releases sampler October 1 (2011)

V.A. - Advanced Releases sampler October 1 (2011) Chris Ousey, Doogie White, Stampede, Soul Seller, Bang Tango, Diemonds

*

Heartland / The Distance / Virginia Wolf vocalist Chris Ousey is pleased to announce his long awaited solo debut CD "Rhyme & Reason" on November 11.
Chris has a knack of writing great lyrics and with Tommy Denander writing the music / co-producing together with Mike Slamer (also Guitars and Keyboards) the combination is just pure magic. This is just a dream-team, as Neil Murray (Whitesnake/Gary Moore) play Bass and Gregg Bisonette (Dave Lee Roth) Drums.
The advance single "Mother Of Invention" is a superb slice of melodic hard rock that will have you singing every chorus after the first spin.

Rydell & Quick is one of the most touring rock band in Sweden. They've held more than 3,000 concerts and broken audience records over 70 times at venues in Sweden.
Originally formed by Christer Rydell (guitars and vocals) and Malin Quick (saxophone and vocals), now the band is a five piece group.
They're an explosive modern Euro Melodic Rock combo nuanced with the heavy sax and female vocals of Malin.
After the successful album R.O.C.K.O.H.O.L.I.C (2006), now the band is releasing all over Europe the catchy single "All In Like A Rockstar".

Finally, R 'N R veteran Doogie White will be releasing his first solo album
According to a press release, "As Yet Untitled" is a collection of 10 dramatic and hard-hitting rock songs co-written by White and some good friends he has made over the years on the rock scene.
The album was recorded at various studios in Florida, Germany, and Scotland but most of the production was handled in Sweden with Pontus Norgren (who also plays guitars) at the helm.
"Time Machine" is the advanced single, a furious old school hard rocker.

UK hard rockers Stampede have recently been in the studio recording a special remake of "Shadows Of The Night", a track which was an old favourite and always a mainstay of their live set.
Although originally recorded live, both for a BBC In Concert session and at Reading Rock Festival in 1982 for the live Official Bootleg album, up until now Stampede had never recorded a studio version of the song.
"We wanted to do something to say a big thank you to our fans and to all the people that have supported us this year with the release of our new album" states vocalist Reuben Archer.
The band just kick off a series of live dates with US rockers Y&T, in support of their new CD 'A Sudden Impulse', released in May this year.

Singer/songwriter Jeremey Frederick is a platinum-selling songwriter (under his full name of Jeremey Frederick Hunsicker) thanks to his association with the band Journey – and a writing credit on the million-selling 2008 release 'Revelation' – .
The classy melodic rocker "Stay" is another of the songs to be included in his 1st full length solo CD, 'Every Little Thing', to be released this year.
Do you miss Steve Perry? Check Jeremey, it's amazing.
Join Jeremey's Kickstarter to help him get his album out:

Jamie Allen (released 'The Storyteller' this year) has just written and recorded at his home an acoustic version of "Against The Ceiling", dedicated to Jani Lane, his family, and all Jani and Warrant fans around the world.
Allen words; "Against The Ceiling is simply me putting myself in the place of my hero, and favorite songwriter ever, Jani Lane, on the night that he passed away.
It was just my way of moving on, or my grieving process so to speak. Jani's words and melodies will live on forever!"

UK melodic rock band Sacred Heart ('Shake' 2007 and 'Darkness Falls' 2009) have ready their 3rd album 'Propaganda', to be released at the end of October.
The album's single is "Nothing At All", a very catchy melodic rock song that features some of the band’s sing-a-long stylings.

Italian melodic rockers Soul Seller announced that their international debut CD will be out on October 21, 2011 through Avenue of Allies Records.
Soul Seller are based in Northern Italy and appeared first on the scene in 1999. After the release of their debut album 'Underground Freedom' in the year 2000 the band went through some line-up changes until the current members finally found together in 2010.
The new album "Back To Life" was produced by Alessandro Del Vecchio (Shining Line, Lionville, Eden’s Curse) and includes a lead vocal duet with Oliver Hartmann (Hartmann, Avantasia).
Check their track "Wings Of Freedom", sounds really promising.

Swedish hard rockers Evergrey have confirmed the release date, November 28, for 'A Decade and a Half', a two disc Greatest Hits collection.
Since the band arrived on the scene with their first album in 1998, Evergrey have brought out eight studio albums and one live release. All of them made the top 20 in their native Sweden and the last two made the top 10.
'A Decade and a Half' contains previously unreleased songs, live tracks and their last single "Wrong", which received a gold award for over 10.000 sold copies in Sweden.
This single take of "Wrong" is different from the album version.

California rockers Bang Tango will release their new album, 'Pistol Whipped In The Bible Belt' this month.
The songs have a bit of influence from their nineties releases, a blend of pounding rythms and heavy groovy vibes.
Former Bang Tango guitarist Alex Grossi co-wrote the single "Suck It Up", a powerful hard rock track with a big riff.

One of Toronto’s hardest working bands is none other than hard rockers Diemonds. The past five years have seen the band touring endlessly, and pulling out all the stops on their live shows.
Front woman Priya Panda radiates the sexiness that is Tia Carrere in Wayne’s World but rocks like Axl in his ‘Appetite For Destruction’ heyday. She happens to be the cause of much excitement although that shouldn’t downplay her vocal prowess or the rest of the band’s killer music chops.
They have finished recording their 1st full-length album 'The Bad Pack' set for release at the end of 2011. "Take On The Night" is the storming first single.

The first single, "I Miss You" features Grammy award winning vocalist Dave Bickler, former lead singer of the band Survivor (Eye of the Tiger era) and lead guitar by Brad Gillis of the band Night Ranger.
Very good song that builds up to a wall of sound.

Mitch Malloy is currently hard at work on his new solo album, which will be on sale in time for Firefest and sees Mitch hoping to outdo his glorious debut in the melodic rock stakes. Having already written songs with Danger Danger’s Bruno Ravel and Harem Scarem’s Pete Lesperence, Mitch is having a blast writing for this new album.
"I think this CD will be more 80s than my first one" says Mitch, "I'm thinking of calling it 'Malloy 2011' or 'Mitch Malloy II' because I feel right now that it truly is the follow up to the first album, although you will hear some new 'from me' things that I haven't done."

Singer/songwriter Jeremey Frederick is a platinum-selling songwriter (under his full name of Jeremey Frederick Hunsicker) thanks to his association with the band Journey – and a writing credit on the million-selling 2008 release 'Revelation' – .

SENCELLED - Sencelled (2011)

SENCELLED - Sencelled (2011)

*

Capitalizing on the current AOR / Melodic Rock scene in Sweden, which produced last year's wonders Houston, Sencelled debuts with their self-titled album.
Sencelled plays melody driven rock / AOR in an updated style with hints of power rock & pop, blending some stunning harmonies with really cool hooks.
Think a mix of Stage Dolls, Rick Springfield and many earlier '90s Canadian bands such as Honeymoon Suite and Haywire.

First single "Breath Out" opens the album, a nice, catchy rocker with a fine AORish chorus and huge background vocals.
Follower "I Love The Way You Are" is an arena ready rockin' tune, while the Rick Springfield comparisons come to mind on next track "Wild One", filled with crunchy guitars and a sing-along chorus.
"Miracle" is a stunning melodic rocker with a killer hook, a song in the nineties Loverboy or Haywire style. It's one of the harder tracks on the album with some strong riffage.
"Oh Sarah" is a nice ballad that obviously was written for radio, with good vocals but the melody is a bit flat and not much impressive.
"Tommy & Gina", stealing the characters from Bon Jovi's Livin' On A Prayer, is not completely convincing lyrically. However, Sencelled redeems itself with a catchy chorus.
I don't like the overall approach of "Things I Feel", musically and sonic-wise.
"I Wanted You" is a very good hook laden modern AORish rocker with brilliant harmonies and cleverly keyboards in the background.
Last track "Carry On" is another good one, again sounding pretty Canadian, driven by tasty guitar riffs and a contagious melody.

"Sencelled" is a really good debut from these young Swedish melodic rockers, convincing and effective for the most part.
The band displays good musicianship and solid songwriting, with tons of hooks and melodies to enjoy. A couple of tracks have some modern rock stink, but that does not affect the final product.
They have some guests on the album such as Tommy Denander, Mats Olausson (Malmsteen, Houston), Kristoffer Lagerstrom (Spin Gallery) and Hank Erix (Houston). Ricky B Delin who produced Houston's debut album has done a first class work behind the desk and come up with a fine result.
Sencelled knows their Melodic Rock craft, and if you are a fan of this lovely genre, this CD will please you for sure.

V.A. - Advanced Releases sampler September 1 (2011)Schenker, Gotthard, diamond dawn, robby valentine

Legendary guitarist Michael Schenker will release his new album, "Temple Of Rock" in Europe on September 23 and in North America on October 11.
Joining Schenker on the album are vocalist Michael Voss, ex-Scorpions drummer Herman Rarebell, UFO and Waysted bassist Pete way and keyboardist Wayne Findlay.

Swiss hard rockers Gotthard will release a live album entitled 'Homegrown - Alive In Lugano' on September 30.
A previously unreleased track entitled "The Train", featuring the band's late singer Steve Lee on vocals, will be made available.
Steve was killed on October 5, 2010 in what has been described as a freak road accident in Nevada.
Due to Lee's sudden passing, the CD's release was postponed — until now.
"The Train" is wonderful acoustic ballad, very touching and melancholic.

In the words of Enspier; "This is a rock band on a mission, and that mission is to inspire listeners to transcend the ordinary from Australia to the other side of the globe..."
Enspier international 2010 debut release 'The Hall of Mirrors' certainly took listeners to that special place that cannot be defined in words and can only be expressed through music.
Their new 2011 recording, the single "Strange" is out now to taste the forthcoming 2nd album.

Diamond Dawn are a band that yours truly really believe in, they might be the next big thing to make it out of Sweden.
The Gothenburg band recently published their single "Standing As One", a fantastic slice of Melodic Rock / AOR in the classy tradition, with driving keyboards and soaring choruses much in the style of H.E.A.T and Houston.

V.A. - Advanced Releases singles 2011 Sebastian Bach , Paradise Inc., Mecca, Wild Rose, Jaded Heart

Sebastian Bach’s single “Kicking And Screaming” is now officially available for digital download on iTunes and Amazon.com, in anticipation of the September 27 release of his new solo album by the same name.
The single is hard hitting rocker with a big riff, pounding drums and vocals that only Sebastian Bach can deliver.

"Time (Live And Learn)" is the advanced single from brazilian's Paradise Inc. forthcoming album "Time". Here is a group steeped in musical references from bands like Europe, Bon Jovi, Harem Scarem, Jaded Heart and Danger Danger.
Recorded in Brazil, Germany and Scotland, "Time" was produced and mixed by Eden’s Curse mainman Paul Logue, while the mastering was handled by Pink Cream bassist Dennis Ward (Krokus, Primal Fear, Place Vendome).

Their advanced track "Burst Into Tears" is a groovy song with a scandi melodic rock flavor and nice harmony vocals on the chorus.

The invasion of new AOR bands from Sweden continues. Yes, Turbulence is a new Swedish Melodic Rock / AOR hope that is releasing a new self-produced EP called "Keepers Of The Light".
"Never Surrender" is a melodic guitar / keyboard driven AOR-rock number with nice harmonies and strong traditional scandi influence.

Finnish Reckless Love are working on a bunch of fresh songs for a new effort to be released next year.
The new track "Young 'N Crazy" shows the band approaching to a more guitar oriented, anthem-like material.

Finally, Wild Rose, the most promising Greek AOR band at the moment will be releasing their first album in September. Their sound is strongly influenced by '80s British AOR with high doses of keyboards.
"Come Back" is a melodic tune which shows the band surging onward and upward with energy and power, with a polished sound.

Ex - Whitesnake guitarist Adrian Vandenberg has wrote and recorded the song "A Number One" for Holland's national soccer team FC Twente from his hometown Enschede, Holland.
The track will gives fans a sneak preview of the sound of his upcoming album, set to be released the end of 2011.
A good song, although it sounds like a jingle-anthem with a small production.

Mecca's 2002 self titled debut remains as one of the best pure AOR albums from the new century.
After 6 years in the making, the second album from singer Joe Vana & Co. (including the mighty Tommy Denander), finally will see the light of day.
"Undeniable" will be released later this year or at the very beginning of 2012.
