0DAYROCKZ Advanced Releases 2013
*
With the new year arriving soon many rock acts are preparing the release of new material, while others anxiously look forward for their debuts to be finally released.
We have here an interesting bunch of advanced tracks / singles from some of them that will see the light of day soon. Some are already established acts, some are really promising new artists dreaming with recognition.
All these tracks are not part of any album yet, all are singles mostly available at the usual music retailers.
Great Norwegian melodicrockers RETURN are preparing a new album and this single retains all their '80s magic. Glammy / hair metal Swedes LIPZ sound really tight on "Ghost Town", the advance of the band's debut. An act to take seriously.
The always effective STEVE AUGERI almost got ready his solo album, very Melodic Rock oriented as shown on the single "Hours In The Day" just released. What about AOR legends ALIEN? With the original lineup there's a recording in the making.
JANE HOLBERG PROJECT surprised last year with an excellent CD. This new single is terrific, featuring a great vocal performance by Åge Sten Nilsen (aka Glam), Wig Wam's singer.
I didn't liked most of the work of BRET MICHAELS after Poison. Well, seems the ol' good Bret has set the knobs in the right place this time. With a ton of stellar guests looks like his new solo album wil be really good.
We have the title track "Get Your Rock On" featuring Def Lepp's Phil Collen on guitars, and a re-make of "Nothing But A Good Time". Believe it or not it's really good, with new arrangements and ex- kiss Ace Frehley on guitars and ex- Van Halen Michael Anthony on bass.
Another artist who has called well known stars for his international debut is Japanaese guitar wizard TAKAYOSHI OHMURA. On the impactful hard rocker "Night Of USA" features the solid vocals of Doogie White.
HARLEQEEN (no 'u') from Sundsvall, Sweden, is a new young band recording their debut in a classic Melodic Rock mould with a modern twist.
Another fresh Swedish band cooking their first album is MISS ANDERSON, with an Americanized sound inspired by Boston and alikes. Good stuff.
We have presented here not so long ago ex- King Kobra David Henzerling new band STEELSHINE. The new track presented from the band's debut is the classic rocker "Ain't Gettin' Any Younger". Guess who is the guest singer? The awesome Jeff Scott Soto, in an awesome performance.
Greek AOR wonders WILD ROSE finished the recording of their second album 'Dangerous' coming at February 2013. "Feel My Love" is a cover of a song written by their idols: Swedes Alien. This track will be included in 'Brave New Love - A Tribute to Alien', to be released next year as well.
STEEL PANTHER is preparing a new CD. Here we have "Donkey Freedom", the main theme from 'Poolboy' OST, a really bizarre movie (as the band). Have you imagined Steel Panther playing '80s AOR? Listen this...
And as some kind of 'bonus', we have included "Drive For Life", a rockin' song recorded last year by my favorites STAGE DOLLS for a safe driving campaign in Norway. This track would not be available in any album. There's rumors of an album in the making...
